MISSION

Founded in 2009, Khaleah London Layers is an interdisciplinary company that communicates stories of the varied cross-cultural human experience by implementing a fusion of classical line and contemporary kinetic phrasing with a rich fullness of African diaspora movement. Providing sensory connections from numerous dance genres and various sound and music forms, the company is committed to creating work that will provoke thought and dialogue. Khaleah London / LAYERS promotes international collaborations among allied artists in all fields such as music, theater, and film as well as in their respected communities.

ABOUT

Khaleah London Layers burst onto the international dance scene in its debut performance in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa at the KAAY FECC arts festival. The company's works have been performed in New York City's premiere dance venues including Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Alvin Ailey Citigroup Dance Theater, and the former Dance Theater Workshop. The company is a recipient of the Harlem Stage's Fund for New Work grant.

Akin to our individual human existence of drawing from multiple biographic episodes, Khaleah London's choreographic structure is built upon diverse facets of movement that yield to a heterogenous visual, multi-dimensional visceral experience.
